7 Takeaways From the Third Presidential Debate

7 Takeaways From the Third Presidential Debate Photo Credit: CNN 1. Once again, the two candidates dont shake hands pre-debate, instead heading to their respective podiums, but unlike the last debate, they also didnt shake hands at the end of the debate. So, no handshakes between the candidates at all at the third presidential debate. 2. When asked if hed accept the results of the election, Trump wouldnt say that hed accept the results, opting instead to say hell look at it at the time a major break from the tradition of the loser coming together with the winner and thus uniting the country post-election, the peaceful transfer of power being one of the prides of this country as said by debate moderator Chris Wallace of Fox News. This failure to agree to honor the results of the election is astounding as every other candidate and winner/loser has done so in the past. Clinton pointed out that Trumps answer was par for the course as hes quick to play the victim and blame the system when hes not the winner, as hes done in this election, calling it rigged when he lost the Iowa GOP caucuses and now that Clinton is in the lead. When his TV show didnt win an Emmy, Clinton added, Trump again blamed the system, which Trump didnt deny, instead interjecting to say that he shouldve won the Emmy. 3. Gun control was one of the foremost topics to be discussed, with Trump saying that if Clinton were to win, the people would end up with a Second Amendment that was a small replica of what it should be. Clinton said that she doesnt see any conflict between saving lives and defending the Second Amendment, as guns are the cause of thousands of deaths each year, and as such, would be in favor of some gun reform measures which would close loopholes that allow people to access guns when they shouldnt be able to. 4. Another topic that came up rather quickly was Roe v. Wade, the court decision which gives women the right to make decisions about their own bodies and the ability to obtain abortions if they choose. Trump said hed appoint justices that are pro-life and who would end up overturning the Roe v. Wade decision, which would then put the burden back on the individual states to make choices about womens abilities to have abortions. Clinton argued that the government has no business in these very personal decisions that women and their families make and she wants the court to represent all of us and would therefore select judges who support marriage equality and abortion rights. Clinton values the Roe v. Wade ruling as abortions should be available to women and they should be the ones to choose what to do with their bodies, unlike Trump who has made past comments saying that if abortion were outlawed, thered be some kind of punishment for women who obtained one. Trump then accused Clinton of being okay with late-term abortions which Trump said rip the baby out of the womb of the mother, while Clinton maintained that under certain circumstances, such as when the mothers health is at-risk, those abortions need to be possible and its still not the governments business. 5. Talking about immigration, Trump said that we have some bad hombres in the U.S. and we have to get them out, stating his desire for strengthened security and border patrol at the U.S.-Mexico border in order to keep the drugs out of our country. 6. Trump repeated his claim that no one has more respect for women than he does, which caused the audience to break their vow of silence to laugh. He flat out denied the validity of the nine women whove come forward in the last week whove claimed Trump allegedly groped or made sexual advances toward them against their wishes, saying that I didnt even apologize to my wife because I didnt do anything. Trump instead accused Clinton and her campaign of either paying the women who came forward or they came forward in hopes of fame or being paid by her campaign, as shes allegedly been paying her supporters to incite violence at Trumps rallies, a claim that has not been substantiated. 7. When the debate somehow found itself talking about Russia and Putin, Trump stated that Putin doesnt respect Obama, and by extension, Clinton, and Clinton memorably responded Well, thats because hed rather have a puppet as president of the United States. Trump interjected twice, saying Youre the puppet in response to Clinton, but did eventually say that of course hed condemn hacking and election interference by Russia or anyone else and that while hes never met Putin, if Russia and the U.S. were to get along, it wouldnt be so bad. Whoever you decide to vote for, just make sure you get out there and vote election day is November 8th. Americas future is in your hands.

Why Does College Algebra Story Problems Helping Students?

Why Does College Algebra Story Problems Helping Students?College algebra story problems help students who find themselves stuck in the difficulty of a homework assignment. What follows is an explanation of how math problems make homework much easier for most students. The first thing to keep in mind about homework is that it should never be the end of the story. Students should be encouraged to do more than just complete the assignment. In addition to completing the task, they should also learn from the assignment as well as how it can help them to progress toward a future goal.Since math problems are often presented in a very visual manner, it is very easy for students to understand the most effective ways to solve them. It is not as easy to understand them if the solution is done by recalling different algorithms or formulas.Find a simple and short form of the problem. Think of one of the most obvious solutions to the problem. Then get to work on that. Make sure that the solution us ed is not too complicated, but simple enough to have students see how it fits into their conceptual understanding of the problem.Since algebra is a difficult task to learn, many students will naturally want to avoid the difficulties they have to face by doing the most efficient way to do the assignment. If you use this strategy, you can usually trick students into thinking they have solved the problem, but it is not true. They only did one thing-they learned that they could do the best solution to the problem. When students are faced with challenging assignment problems, they are usually looking for a shortcut. They know it is very difficult to solve a problem by visualizing the steps needed, so they turn to algebra. They are basically seeking a formula that they can always refer to when they need the answer. These students do not appreciate the challenge they are facing because they have forgotten the challenging and difficult things that make it so. In college, they are still learni ng the most important things and they are naturally curious about difficult tasks. College algebra story problems help students to make themselves a step ahead of their peers.

How LSAC Calculates Your GPA

How LSAC Calculates Your GPA The Law School Admission Council (LSAC) calculates your likelihood of attending law school by examining your LSAT scores and your undergraduate GPA. Here is some great information on how the LSAT is scored. There are a number of websites that allow you to enter your GPA into their virtual calculators. While each law school typically does not adhere to a strict minimum for LSAT results and GPAs, there are general thresholds that programs desire. Your testing date, professional experience, and ethnicity are not taken into consideration when determining your personal index score. Here is are6 tips to help you excel in law school, which you my find useful in the future. How is my LSAC GPA determined? The official LSAC GPA calculator provides applicants with an estimated score for their admissions index (an index score). While each law school calculates this admissions index differently, the LSAC official calculator is an ideal place to begin, as it maintains a number of potential index formulas. The LSAC grade scale is somewhat different from that of many undergraduate schools. An A+ (98-100) is worth 4.33. While the scale is based upon the normative 4.0 GPA scale, it allows for an A+ grade. It does not, however, award credit for an E or F. Non-punitive withdrawals on your transcripts are not included as failing grades within your LSAC GPA. All other withdrawals are noted as failing marks (0.00). Note that passing grades in a pass/fail class will not be calculated in the LSAC GPA. If you enrolled in a course twice, both the original and retake result count, even if your undergraduate school only utilized the second score in your GPA. If your study-abroad courses do not appear on your domestic transcript, they will not be counted. Here are 3 ways extracurricular activities help your law school applicationas well. Generally, if a grade is present on your transcript, it is likely to be included in your GPA. This is true only of classes prior to earning your first Bachelors degree. If you have completed coursework after this stage, it will not be taken into account when calculating your index score. What should I do with my index score? With your score in hand, there are a number of sources that offer matching services between your index result and various law schools. Several focus solely on top-tier programs. Not all services are reliable, so ensure you do sufficient research when investigating these matches. With luck, they will guide your application process to law schools within your reach, as well as save you money and time in determining which programs are best for you. Consider limiting reach schools to just one application. Also keep in mind also that if you have sat for the LSAT multiple times, law schools receive every score report. Prepare accordingly, and good luck!

Definition of Perpendicular Lines

Definition of Perpendicular Lines We can define perpendicular lines are lines, which have angle between them are right angle (90O). In other words we can say perpendicular lines are lines, having product of slopes -1. Means if the slope of a line is 2, then the slope of perpendicular line is (1/2). If we have line ax + by + c = 0, we know the equation of perpendicular line bx ay + k = 0. Problem 1: If we have a equation of a line 3x - 4y + 7 =0, find the equation of a line which is perpendicular to the given line and passes through (1, 0). Solution: Step1: The equation of given line is 3x 4y + 7 = 0 = Step2: The line perpendicular to 3x 4y + 7 = 0 is 4x + 3y + k =0 = Step3: We know, this line passes through (1, 0), so we need to plug the values in this equation to get the value of k = 4 (1) + 3 (0) + k = 0 = k = - 4 = Step 4: The required equation of a line is 4x + 3y 4 =0. Problem 2: If we have an equation of a line 2x + 3y + 4 =0, find the equation of a line which is perpendicular to the given line and passes through (1, 1). Solution: Step1: The equation of given line is 2x + 3y + 4 = 0 = Step2: The line perpendicular to 2x+ 3y + 4 = 0 is 3x 2y + k =0 = Step3: We know, this line passes through (1, 1), so we need to plug the values in this equation to get the value of k = 3 (1) 2 (1) + k = 0 = k =- 1 = Step 4: The required equation of a line is 3x 2y - 1 =0.

The Life Cycle of a Star.

The Life Cycle of a Star. From a Dust Cloud to a Black Hole, Here’s What You Need to Know about a Star’s Life Cycle. ChaptersWhat is a Star? How is a Star Formed? What are the Stages in the Life of a Star? What Happens Next? It Depends on the Size of the Star.Look up into the sky. That thing shining there â€" or ‘burning ferociously’ as might be a better description â€" has been doing its thing for four and a half billion years. Throughout the course of human history, it’s been there the whole time, burning away and giving life to our planet.4.6 billion years. That’s a number that we can hardly even imagine. Yet, scientists reckon that our Sun is about halfway through its lifecycle.Give it another four billion years and it will, like all stars do, ultimately ‘die’ â€" changing from a main sequence star into a supernova or into what is known as a planetary nebula. We ain’t gonna be alive to see any of this happen â€" and, by we, we mean planet earth. Here, we’re going to be talking about the life of a star. We’re going to be talking about the forces that bring it together and that forc e it ultimately apart. And we’re going to be talking about the things that help it keep its shape and size for the unimaginably long time that occurs in between. We’ll be talking about those things with which you’ve probably heard in passing: the red giant, neutron stars, black holes â€" and white dwarfs and supernovas. All of these things make up phases in the life of a star. But let’s take a closer look.In the meantime, find out everything about astronomy, and the differences between astronomy, astrophysics, and cosmology. And, unless you live in the biggest of cities and have never looked up, it is pretty likely that you will have seen some stars in your life too.But do you know what a star actually is? Apart from the fact that it ‘twinkles’ and is in ‘the sky’.A star is a massive object in space, held together by gravitational forces, that is distinguished from a planet by its luminosity â€" or the fact that it produces light. That’s the short answer. Now to the long answer.A star is a ball of plasma and gas that radiates energy in the form of heat and light. This radiation is due to the thermonuclear fusion of hydrogen into helium that occurs at its core. All this wouldn’t happen if stars weren’t so big. But, under the force of gravity, and under all sorts of other molecular forces, atoms are smashed together, and new elements are formed. All of this releases energy. This process, which we call nuclear fusion, is, incidentally, something we hope to replicate on Earth â€" because of the sheer amount of energy that it produces. But no, stars aren’t really ‘burning’ or ‘on fire’ or any of these words we use to describe them. Rather, the processes that are happening mean that the sun is much hotter and much more en ergetic than any fire we’ve ever seen.Learn more about our solar system! How is a Star Formed? But why does all this happen? One of the most amazing things about our universe is that there is anything at all in it. As the philosopher Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz once asked, how come there is something rather than nothing? This question is a little relevant when it comes to thinking that stars produce the very conditions that support life.Nebulae.Imagine an empty, desperately cold space filled with dust and gases that are the debris of old planets and stars. Star formation begins when, in this intense cold, all of this interstellar dust and gas slowly starts to clump together. Gases reach higher densities in the cold, whilst the atoms bind together. This is the first step in the life cycle of stars: the planetary nebulae, these molecular clouds that drift across the universe. As soon as higher densities are reached, the gravitational forces get stronger, meaning that all of the gases and particles in the nebula slowly start coming together. These great big molecular clouds then start collapsing and, as they start moving in on each other, the heat increases. With all this stuff clumping together, the core becomes what will later be the star â€" or often even two or three stars known as star clusters. Meanwhile, different parts of the cloud might become planets or might just stay as dust â€" as in our solar system.(All of this, by the way, takes about ten million years. As a comparison, humans have been about for only two hundred thousand years.)Learn about some of the major astronomical discoveries. Nebulae are some of the most beautiful things in the universe. What are the Stages in the Life of a Star?So far we have seen how stars are created â€" from the big messy clouds of dust and gas in the universe. But what these nebulae create are hardly even stars just yet. Rather, they are protostars, which are the very beginning of the star life cycle.Protostars.After the initial phase as a nebula, the start of stellar evolution is in the protostar. This is when the star is essentially still growing â€" when it is still gathering dust and material from the cloud that formed it.The protostar begins with only one percent of the mass of its future self. But, with all of the mass that is ‘infalling’ due to the core’s gravity, it builds up relatively quickly.Only when thermonuclear fusion begins at the core does the star stop being a protostar and becomes instead a main sequence star. At this point the star’s mass is stable â€" as it produces a ‘stellar wind’ that prevents the i nfall of further mass.Brown Dwarfs. If protostars don’t become big enough, however â€" and by that we mean about eight percent of the size of the sun â€" they never really become stars at all. Instead, they become brown dwarfs, sort of failed stars in which thermonuclear fusion does not take place.Find and take classes with a maths physics tutor here. What Happens Next? It Depends on the Size of the Star. After the protostar stage, the nature and processes of a star’s life cycle depends on the particular star’s mass. And so we’ll split this here into two separate streams. There are those stars that have roughly the mass of the Sun â€" the sun being fairly ‘normal’-sized as far as stars go. Then there are those that are much bigger. The bigger stars are, the quicker they burn. So, whilst Sun-sized stars remain as main sequence stars for about ten billion years, a massive star would live less long.Even so, about ninety percent of a star’s life is as a main sequence star â€" in which it will casually fuse hydrogen into helium. When the hydrogen in its core runs out, the core will begin to collapse and will get much hotter. As the core increases in heat, it pushes the rest of the star outwards, meaning that the outer edges cool.Stars the Size of the Sun â€" Roughly. The most commonly sized stars are stars the size of the Sun. After about ten billion years, once they have run out of hydrogen, they slowly become white dwarfs.White Dwarfs.White dwarfs are cool little things that have perplexed scientists despite their commonness. Imagine the mass of the sun all in the space of the earth and you’ve got yourself a white dwarf. And bizarrely, they are denser the smaller they are â€" meaning the bigger stars would form the smallest white dwarfs. They are hugely dense things that keep themselves from collapsing further due to the activity of electrons. However, with no way of producing energy, there is nothing really that keeps them together. So, gradually coolin g, they just tend to fade away.Massive Stars.Massive stars have a different end in store for them.If a star is about eight times bigger than the sun, you can expect it to end in a massive explosion known as a supernova.Remember that the bigger the star the quicker they burn through hydrogen. And when they have run out of hydrogen, they produce iron as the result of a long series of chemical reactions. When that happens, the core collapses in a matter of seconds from five thousand miles across to just twelve.Temperatures reach a hundred billion degrees and the supernova becomes brighter than a whole galaxy. This is the first picture ever taken of a black hole. What is a Black Hole?Particularly dense stars produce one of the most fascinating phenomena in the universe when they die. These are black holes.Rather than exploding outwards, these stars implode, collapsing into themselves to form an object so dense that nothing â€" not even light â€" can escape it.These things pull everything around them into themselves â€" whilst emitting huge amounts of radiation. Is there life in the universe?

The Incan Civilization

The Incan Civilization What Defined the Inca Empire? ChaptersOutlining the Inca CivilisationLife in the Incan EmpireIncan TechnologyWhat Remains of the Incan Empire TodayToday, the Incan Empire is known as the largest in pre-Columbian America, and the most efficient. For all of its glaring holes in civic structure â€" no currency or legal code to name just two, their political and administrative structure was nevertheless the most developed of all the south- and Mesoamerican societies.Theirs was a relatively short tenure but impactful nonetheless. It was a remarkable civilisation, flourishing in spite of challenges posed in no small part by the terrain they occupied, as well as other factors that we will now explore in-depth. It was said that, wherever his staff should touch the earth, people would settle.Cusco is where his staff finally touched the ground. The people already on that land put up a fight but, after one of Manco’s sisters killed one of the land’s defenders, the rest ran away, frightened, leaving the Cusco dwellers to surrender and submit. The brother with the golden staff, Manco, became the founder of the Inca.A more pragmatic (and possibly provable) beginning of the Incan civilization is that the empire builders were actually refu gees of the urban-dwelling Wari and the pastoral Tiwanaku. This theory certainly makes sense when we consider the remnants of Inca civilisation, especially the magnificent structures they built.GeographyCentred in the Andes mountains, the Inca Empire covered a large portion of western South America. At its height, it encompassed Peru and parts of Equador, as well as parts of Bolivia, Argentina and most of Chile. The seat of the empire, Cusco (also spelt Cuzco), is located in southeastern Peru, high in the Andes Mountains â€" 34,000 meters above sea level, to be exact. While not close to a body of water â€" Lake Titicaca is several miles away, the Incans nevertheless managed to engineer ways of harnessing water for bathing, for drinking and for their crops. They were also keen strategists, using their territory and their knowledge of the Peruvian highlands to maximise their military strength when fighting against the Spanish conquistadors.Discover also how the geography of the Fertile Cre scent allowed the Mesopotamian civilization to thrive...GovernmentMuch like the United States today, the Incan Empire followed a federal model of government: several independent states that ultimately fell under the rule of a central body of legislators. However, unlike the US and its 50 states, the Inca only had four quarters whose corners ‘met’ in Cusco. Each quarter, or suyu was governed by an Apu, a man of high distinction and status. The same term was used to identify especially venerated mountains! Each Apu held rule over several districts within his quarter; it is estimated that, at the height of Incan rule, there may have been more than 80 such districts. We must bear in mind that there are no actual records of the Inca model of government. What we know comes from Spanish documents of the time and they are often misleading and/or open to interpretation. At the federal level, the Incan governing body was strikingly similar to what we see in modern-day politics. At the top of th e hierarchy would be the overall leader, often with a religious leader in tandem. Below would fall a person akin to a prime minister, who oversaw a sort of Council of the Realm. This council was comprised of 16 noblemen, with a fair representation of ‘higher’ and ‘lower’ divisions of the empire.Said ‘higher’ and ‘lower’ reflect social stratification â€" the separation of nobles versus commoners; it is not an indication of the altitude at which those people lived. Both males and females were tasked with caring for livestock Image by Yolanda Coervers from PixabayLawsAs mentioned before, the Inca left not codified laws; possibly because they lived by a strict moral code that had only three premises:Do not steal (ama sua)Do not lie (ama llulla)Do not be lazy (ama quella)To ensure enforcement, it became everyone’s civic duty to report on wrongdoers. In addition, they had inspectors to oversee compliance. This moral code tied in with their religious belief that good people would inherit heaven â€" snow-capped mountains topping a beautiful pasture. They especially feared not being ‘good’ because it was told that they would spend their eternity in the cold earth.Learn about the death rites of the Aztec culture.EconomyCuriously, the Incan Empire used no money and established no markets. The people used a bartering system among themselves and among groups. To pay their duty to the state â€" what would be considered taxation if currency were involved , individuals or groups performed labour for the good of the empire. This work could be building roads or monuments, serving in a military capacity or being a runner. The Incas perfected a form of long-distance communication by having runners stationed at intervals along their more than 8,000 km of roads. When a government official in Cusco needed to send a message to an official in a distant province, he would task a runner to carry the message. From there, message delivery became a relay race. The first runner would arrive at the first outpost, pass on the message and the second runner would take off... and so on until the message reached the intended ears.Because of instances such as this, in economic terms sociologists have described the Incan Empire as either a feudal state, a slave state or a socialist state.Whether it was a socialist paradise or social tyranny is still being debated.Life in the Incan EmpireDiligence was highly valued in Incan society; much of what people did revo lved around civil service.Curiously, even though everyone was considered a servant â€" even the kings served the Incan ideal, and there was no wealth to amass, there were sharp distinctions between people.Social StratificationNaturally, kings or supreme leaders were at the very top of the pile. They were called Capacs and they often came to their position as a matter of heredity. They were permitted several wives.Inca nobility, called Inka, also inherited their social position. They were easy to recognise because their heads would be oddly conical from having been wrapped when they were infants.Such head wrapping was considered a mark of distinction in many cultures, not just the Inca!Curacas were bureaucrats and government functionaries and caciques were agricultural community leaders.Chasqui is the last social rank above the general population. They were the runners along Incan highways that we mentioned earlier. Such a stretch would be rather easy for Incan runners to course Image by Alper Sevinc from PixabayReligionSpanish records allude to the Inca belief in reincarnation. There was a prohibition of burning a body after death because doing so would threaten their passage to the afterworld. Hence, Incans would be mummified and stored, so that they could be retrieved at times of celebration.Besides believing in reincarnation and following the Incan moral code â€" do not lie, steal or be lazy, the Incans worshipped a pantheon of gods:Viracocha (or Pachacamac): creator of all living thingsPachamama: wife of Viracocha; mother of the EarthInti: sun god who smiles with special favour on the city of Cuscohe was their patron deity, meaning that he was thought to reside in the city, causing Cusco to be thought of as the City of the Sun.Mama Killa: wife of Inti, called the Moon MotherIllapa: goddess of lightning and thunderAyar Cachi: a hot-tempered god whose tantrums cause earthquakesMama Occlo: taug ht people how to be civilised; taught women how to weave cloth and build housesManco Capac was considered a god as well as the father of the Inca people. He taught them how to share resources and work together; he also taught them how to craft weaponry and plant crops. It is hard to determine whether Manco Capac was real or merely a part of their oral history whose legend grew with each retelling.Certainly, somebody had to found the empire, lead it and hand it off to a successor, as it is told Manco did. But trying to distinguish myth from fact with no records to examine...By contrast, Egyptologists have no trouble deciphering Ancient Egypt’s civilisation.SacrificesMuch like the Mayans, the Inca routinely offered their gods a buffet of human sacrifice â€" especially child sacrifice.Should water be lacking or if there wasn’t enough food; if the supreme leader died, one or several children would be offered to the gods in return for their renewed benevolence.Leisure ActivitiesThere is not much indication of what Incan people did for fun; accounts reverberate with a sense of pleasure in duty, of belonging to the greater whole and to be given tasks equal to one’s neighbour.A fine example of that mentality is evident in the Incan principles of marriage.Males were permitted to marry after age 20; females about four years younger and these unions were generally very businesslike. Nobody married outside of their social class.Once a couple sets up on their own, the bride was expected to manage all aspects of the home and care for the children when they come, work in the garden and tend to livestock.Males also tended to the animals and may work in the garden but their duties included building houses, carrying in firewood and joining in combat, if necessary.Early fleets of Spaniards saw the division of labour between males and females as more of a slave/master relationship, with the man being the master. The women could not seem to convince them that they were happy t o have an equal burden of responsibility.  And no matter how one looked at the matter, the life of the Inca, male and female, was one of servitude. Not much is known about how Incan nobles spent their leisure time but we know plenty about how the ancient Greeks played... Inca agricultural terraces also provided a way to store water Image by mckinleypitts from PixabayIncan TechnologyIn many ways, the Incas have it all over other ancient societies who performed magnificent feats of engineering. For one, their use of agricultural terraces to capture and retain water while experimenting with crops is nothing short of brilliant.Besides irrigating the agricultural terraces, those aqueducts brought fresh water into the living centres; they even built communal baths. What is truly remarkable about the Incan waterways is that they were so precisely hewn out of solid rock rather than assembled, as the Roman aqueducts were. When you think about their not having any metal tools, it makes that feat even more astounding. To this day, thanks to their engineering savvy and hard work, those agricultural terraces, called the Sacred Valley of the Incas, is one of the most fecund areas of Peru.Their other feats of engineering are no less amazing... take their rope bridges, for example.Because the empire graced the top of the Andean Range, it was necessary to create passages from one outpost to the next without the messengers or workers having to descend through treacherous territory, only to have to climb more of the same.Building a rope bridge entailed having a team of workers on either side of the gorge they sought to span. One team would secure the bridge materials on their side of the gorge, and then fire an arrow to the other side with the other end of the rope attached. The worker on the other side should catch the arrow and/or rope, fasten it on his end and then begin the death-defying journey across it to make sure it was sound. What Remains of the Incan Empire TodayAs with the original Australians, the Inca succumbed to the diseases brought by their European invaders: smallpox, influenza, measles and typhus.By the time the third wave of Spanish conquerors landed, they found the population badly decimated.Furthermore, the restive population was d isenchanted with the sons of Sapa Inca, the overall leader, fighting for the throne. When Atahualpa, who defeated his brothers to win the crown, met with a delegation of Spaniards, he soundly rejected the Spanish king’s order to surrender and hand over all Incan wealth. They promptly imprisoned him.He bargained: with enough gold to fill his cell and twice that amount of silver, would they set him free? The Spanish agreed to those terms but, once the wealth was delivered, they reneged, slitting Atahualpa’s throat.Oddly enough, the Inca were relieved that their supreme leader was dead. Without much fuss, they let go of their gods, their rules and their way of life. The last Inca holdout, a village high in the mountains named Vilcabamba, was conquered in 1572. The last ruler was executed and whatever was left of the Incan way of life was destroyed.Unlike the Sumerians who invented one of the world’s first writing systems and recorded their deeds, the Incan legacy can only be reconst ructed from Spanish documents; a fairly biased narrative. However, they left us fantastic architecture to marvel over â€" Machu Picchu and other stone buildings, and many mysteries yet to understand. Now learn about more ancient civilisations...
